As the founding product designer, I led the end-to-end design of Skyhunter, an AI-powered app that enables falcon owners to monitor their birds’ well-being remotely. Connected to a custom smart scale perch, the app tracks real-time weight and environmental data, including temperature, humidity, and air pressure, giving owners actionable insights into their falcons’ health even when away. Recognizing the niche and high-value nature of falconry, I initiated and led comprehensive user research with experienced caretakers to uncover their specific workflows and priorities. These insights shaped every key design decision, from the core features to interaction patterns and data visualization.
I established the design strategy, defined the user journeys, and created the product’s visual direction. Beginning with low-fidelity wireframes, I validated the information architecture through user feedback, then evolved the experience into high-fidelity prototypes for development. I collaborated closely with engineers to ensure design accuracy, intuitive functionality, and seamless app-to-device integration. To align the product’s aesthetic with its luxury market, I also oversaw the premium packaging design, partnering with a leather craftsman to create a bespoke holder for the scale. The final deliverable included the smart device, packaging, marketing website, and mobile app, forming a cohesive, high-end ecosystem for discerning falcon owners.
Through research, leadership, and design ownership, I transformed Skyhunter from concept to market-ready product, delivering a seamless, data-driven experience tailored to an exclusive clientele.
